This being the second day of the year, its good to see the rest of the world come back and join us who have been working throughout the holidays. Its interesting to watch people walk up to you with a smile and the inevitable "Happy New Year!" greeting. Its also interesting to note that the cafeteria is slowly getting back its characteristic lunch time queues of people. And the city streets? Packed as usual today. Kimathi street seems to be the capital center of this city. The supermarkets are aslo full of back-to-school shoppers... This is a time when patience comes in very handy. And a financial planner too. (and maybe a raise...?)
During the holidays I spent time watching Star Trek: Enterprise season 1 and I'm amazed at how the different species seem to be right here in my corporate setting. Dont you feel sometimes like the HR department is run by vulcans, for instance? More on this in a few days.
